Spirit of Lindy

Each Hullabaloo, the Spirit of Lindy Award is presented to an individual from the Perth swing dancing scene who embodies the kindness, joy and enthusiasm emblematic of our community. Their presence and contributions make the local scene more special, welcoming, and fun!

Previously, only the Hullabaloo Committee decided on the recipient – then in 2021, the process changed to be based on community nominations and votes.

So now, the Spirit of Lindy Award is decided by:
1. Public nominations (i.e. anyone can nominate anyone)
2. The Hulla Committee compiles a shortlist from the nominations
3. Public votes on the shortlist

Please join us in congratulating our five wonderful finalists for 2025: Bron, Charlotte, Kent, Shawn and Lindsey!

Finalists were determined by committee based on your community nominations (no finalists were involved in the selection process).

Vote for who YOU think deserves to be this year’s Spirit of Lindy Award via this Google Form. Voting will remain anonymous, and closes on Sunday 27th April at 9pm.

Our 2025 award recipient will be announced at our Sunday night social, Everybody Step at Perth Town Hall feat. Lucy Iffla and Friends.
